Individual and Family Therapy
Our therapists meet with individuals and/or families to understand their background, concerns, and to set specific goals to address in therapy. The therapist will determine which mode of therapy will be most effective and will discuss the treatment plan with the client/s.
When preferred and appropriate, individual and family counseling may be held online via a secure and encrypted video chat program. All you need is an internet connection and a webcam; so most phones, tablets and computers are compatible.
When working with children age 10 and under, the therapist will use play therapy. Play therapy can be an effective way to help children who are experiencing difficulty in some area of their lives. Children use toys to express themselves in play therapy in the same way that adults use words to express themselves in talk therapy.
During play therapy, the therapist will build a trusting relationship with the child that will allow the child to freely express who they are and the struggles they face. Play therapy sessions are held in a playroom that has a variety of specific toys and materials. Click here for more information on play therapy.
